Fall camp is over and it is time to start talking about the real football games that are about to take place. There was a lot of noise coming out from fall camp that this team could be good. (This always happens) But are they really supposed to be good? And if they are the same as last year with a harder schedule does that mean overall we will be worse?
BYU vs Sam Houston
BYU released their depth chart for the first game of the season a couple of days ago. Here is what it looks like:
A couple of things on this depth chart that gets me excited. Our defense looks much better thanks to some key transfers in Jackson Cravens, Isaiah Bagnah, AJ Vongphachanh, and Eddie Heckard. BYU does look a little slim after the season ending injury to Micah Harper at safety, but im interested to see if we move Heckard more into a safety role if things dont go well.
On offense, the main one is Kedon Slovis. Will we see USC Kedon or Pitt Kedon? I have to think the former with Roderick at the helm and in BYUs scheme but only time will tell. Super excited to see Aidan Robbins and what he can do. He was a 1,000 yard rusher last year at UNLV. Lastly, our offense line looks like a wall that no one is going to get past. Suamataia is a pro prospect, Maile is a transfer from Utah who is super powerful, and Etienne is a transfer from Oklahoma St and I have never seen a bigger man in my entire life. 6-8 and 330 lbs!!!!
Prediction Time
So now we have reached the moment we have been waiting for. I have been honking BYUs horn telling you about the different players that we have and how good we could be. With all of that being said, BYU has a 9, 8, 7 win team but the Big 12 did not give them any luck in their first season. I have BYU as 7-5 and 5-4 in conference play.

BYU Misc.
If you are fanatic like me about what uniforms BYU wears every game then keep reading. BYU is dropping a first ever worn uniform and while it may not look that much different, it is. BYU has worn the royal jersey and royal helmet twice before, but never has their royal helmet featured a WHITE facemask. Both times that BYU has worn this uniform before it was with a nickel facemask and a royal facemask. Saturday will be the first time they wear a royal helmet with a white facemask. And honestly, I am stoked. (I think its their best uniform combo, the royal jersey and royal helmet with the white facemask)
If you want to see a really cool video, check out the BYU Sports Nation interview and sit down with Kalani Sitake and Kedon Slovis. It was really cool to hear Sitake speak and how down to earth he is and to see how Slovis has really been loving BYU.
