If you know anything about me, it’s that I LOVE sports. Not only do I love sports, but I love TALKING about sports. I could talk your ear off but no one wants that, we all like our ears. I often share my thoughts and analysis on social media about sports and the teams I love, mainly BYU Sports, and then it dawned on me, “Grant, why don’t you create a blog about sports, specifically a BYU Sports Blog? Then you could actually have people follow you and want to listen to you instead of just saying what you want and how you feel to basically no one.” This is how I imagine people would be if I talked to them about sports all the time.
Well luckily, I made this blog so you do not have to listen to me talk to you about sports all the time, now you can READ what I have to say about sports every week! Before we dive into all of that, I want to introduce myself a little bit.
Who am I? (Les Mis anyone?)
I have loved sports since I was a little kid when I would run outside to the front yard, grab the newspaper, and then run back up to my dad and tell him all of the stories, stats, and columns that people were writing about the news from the previous day. My dad would always read the newspaper. And he would always give me the sports section growing up. He knew that I loved sports just as much as he did. Sports has always been my thing. My dad has taken me to many BYU games and I love playing, watching, and talking about sports.
I have been married for 4 years to my wife, Megan, and we have a son, Grayson, who is turning 1 in May. We also have a dog named Bucky who is turning 4 in April. I currently work as an Enterprise Advertising Specialist at a Digital Marketing Agency called 97th Floor in Lehi, Utah, and have worked there for 2 years and have 3 years of total digital marketing experience. You can also read more about me here.
Why this blog?
Enough about me, and now back to the blog. And you’re probably wondering, why would you create a blog. Maybe do a podcast or something if you LOVE talking about sports? Well, I am starting this blog because I want to write about sports and BYU. Plain and simple. I work in digital marketing and am always thinking about content, writing, and how to make something sound good. So, I want to take those skills that I have and turn it into a blog. I also love sports and not just any sports, but BYU and college sports. So if you are passionate about sports, BYU, college sports, or a combo of all three, then you need to read this blog, this is for you!
I love talking about sports and want to share my thoughts and analysis with you all! I also want to have normal conversations through emails, comments, etc. about these topics. Eventually, we can all learn more about BYU and college sports as you read my analysis and blog and comment with your thoughts as well. If you want to be notified of when my new blog comes out, subscribe to my newsletter and you’ll get an update on when my blogs come out! Speaking of when blogs come out, you can expect a new blog every week on Monday. You can catch all of the latest news, info, stats, stories, and analysis from this blog.
What are my blogging goals?
Now you’re probably thinking, okay, great, you want to create a blog, but why should I come and read every week? My main goal for this blog is to build a community. A community of people who want to talk about sports. There is so much going on in the world of sports and I want to be at the center of all things college and BYU sports! I want to build a community where we are able to talk about BYU and college sports and everything that is happening in that space. I want conversations and analysis not just from me, but from you!
Are you almost done yet?
Yes, yes I am. BYU and sports are my passion. I am really excited to create this community with everyone that follows and reads. I am also excited for what’s to come for all things BYU and college sports. We have a lot to talk about! So look out for a new BYU Sports blog each week, subscribe to my newsletter here, follow my social media accounts to also stay up to date on when blogs come out by clicking on the social links below, and share, share, share with everyone that you know who would be interested in learning more about and staying up to date with BYU and collegiate sports. If you’re itching to see some BYU and college news, I would suggest these links for BYU Sports, college football, and college basketball.

Grant, I bleed BYU Blue. I am excited to hear your thoughts about Cougar sports. Would you start with the new quarterbacks and entering the Big 12?
